CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza noted that breaching the 40,000-unit monthly milestone signifies a strong recovery from the severe weather disruptions and standard “ghost month” slowdown that crippled dealership activity in preceding weeks. The Philippine xEV market skyrocketed by 163% during the first nine months of 2026, with electrified vehicle sales surging to 54,372 units up from just 20,676 units during the same period last year. Looking specifically at the September data, the shift toward sustainable transport becomes even more distinct: xEV sales exploded by 300.5% year-on-year to hit 8,959 units. This hyper-growth has effectively elevated electrified vehicles to an impressive 17.71% share of the total automotive industry, proving that Filipino buyers are rapidly pivoting to eco-friendly options amid volatile local fuel costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September\u2019s electrified sales showcases massive consumer momentum across all EV subtypes. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) remained the volume favorite, swelling 123% to 3,933 units and capturing nearly 44% of the monthly xEV market. Meanwhile, advanced plug-in variations experienced astronomical growth; battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales jumped 711.3% to 3,075 units, while plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) soared by nearly 2,000% to 1,951 units. Industry leaders indicate that the dual force of strong government adoption incentives and rising consumer confidence is cementing the EV segment’s dominance, transforming it from a niche premium category into a cornerstone of the Philippine automotive landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
