Global new energy vehicle brand OMODA & JAECOO has demonstrated the long-distance capability and fuel efficiency of its Super Hybrid System (SHS) following the successful completion of the OMODA Super Hybrid Marathon, held from October 21 to 22 in Wuhu, China, during the company’s 2026 International User Summit. The endurance test saw the OMODA 5 NEXT SHS-H achieve a tested combined driving range of 1,015 kilometers and fuel consumption of just 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers, underscoring the ability of its hybrid technology to combine efficiency with responsive driving performance.

Beginning in Wuhu, the marathon first tested the vehicles in stop-and-go city traffic, where frequent acceleration, braking, and changing speeds placed varying demands on their powertrains. Equipped with a dedicated 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid engine, the OMODA 5 NEXT SHS-H delivered smooth, responsive power while maintaining efficient energy consumption. On the Hangzhou–Changsha Expressway, the focus shifted to sustained highway performance and long-distance cruising. With a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds, the OMODA 5 NEXT SHS-H demonstrated the ability of its hybrid powertrain to deliver responsive acceleration alongside extended driving range.
The final stretch introduced winding mountain roads, where steep inclines and successive corners tested the vehicle’s agility and power delivery. Its ECO and SPORT driving modes allowed drivers to adapt to different conditions, supported by Level 2 driving assistance and 19 advanced driver assistance systems. The marathon highlights OMODA & JAECOO’s broader investment in new energy mobility, with its expanding portfolio encompassing hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

During the summit, OMODA & JAECOO reported cumulative worldwide sales exceeding 1.4 million vehicles, with operations spanning 79 markets and more than 1,700 showrooms. New energy vehicles also accounted for a reported 81 percent of total sales, reinforcing electrification’s growing importance to the company’s business.
