XPeng has officially rolled out domestic deliveries of its new Mona L05, setting a bold target to put 10,000 units on the road in its first month. The five-seat, mid-size SUV launched on October 29 with an aggressive promotional price of 139,800 yuan (roughly PhP 1.316 Million). The response was immediate. Within three minutes of its debut night, XPeng’s initial stock of 5,000 vehicles completely vanished. This initial burst makes the company’s first-month milestone look entirely within reach as mass handovers begin.

Fresh off a record-shattering October—where deliveries hit an all-time high of 50,237 vehicles—Chairman He Xiaopeng wants to leverage the L05 to crack 60,000 monthly sales by the end of 2026. Buyers are clearly leaning into the brand’s tech-forward identity. In fact, an overwhelming 98% of early orders opted for the premium “Turing” smart-driving package.

Much of the vehicle’s mass appeal lies under the hood, where buyers can choose between two distinct powertrains. The purely electric models run on a 183 kW rear motor, netting a CLTC range of up to 635 kilometers. Because it consumes just 11.7 kWh per 100 km, topping the battery from 30% to 80% takes less than 16 minutes on a fast charger. For those still wary of EV infrastructure, the extended-range (EREV) variant pairs a battery pack with a 42-liter fuel tank. This dual setup stretches the total range to a massive 1,310 kilometers, backed by 310 kilometers of pure electric driving.

The L05 isn’t just a domestic play, either. It represents a vital piece of XPeng’s strategy to expand into 65 countries and regions. The automaker prepared for this global push well in advance, initiating international shipments days before the domestic launch. To ensure the car could handle varied global markets, engineers developed left- and right-hand-drive versions simultaneously, subjecting 660 test units to 5 million kilometers of brutal terrain from Mexico to the UAE. Built to clear five-star safety standards across China, Europe, and Australia, the L05 is XPeng’s clear bid to turn the Mona badge into a global family favorite.
