A loose fuel tube has prompted Toyota to recall over 105,000 vehicles, warning owners that a potential leak near the gas tank could trigger a fire. The safety campaign focuses squarely on a high-profile lineup: the 2024 through 2027 model years of the Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Hybrid. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a resin fuel tube connection under the vehicle can shake loose. If it detaches completely, it won’t just stall the engine—it could spill raw gasoline close to hot exhaust parts. Toyota engineers started digging into the issue in July 2024 after field reports of leaking fuel began trickling in. Since then, the automaker has flagged at least 64 warranty claims tied to the defect.

To address the hazard, authorized Toyota dealerships will perform a physical inspection of the fuel tube connection. Depending on what technicians find, dealers will either install a supplemental clamp or replace the resin fuel tube entirely and add a supplemental clamp, with all repairs conducted completely free of charge to vehicle owners.

This specific safety recall for the 105,794 Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles is primarily concentrated in the United States. Toyota has not yet expanded this specific 105,000-vehicle fuel tube recall to other major global markets. However, because the Land Cruiser is a global model built on shared manufacturing lines, it is common for the automaker to roll out corresponding regional campaigns in countries like Canada, Japan, or European nations once local regulators process the technical data.
